1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using this chatroom service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

This Service is operated as a hobby project for learning and experimentation with online communication systems. All activity is logged and analyzed for system improvement and learning purposes.

2. Purpose and Data Collection

This Service is operated as a personal hobby project for learning and experimentation. By using the Service:

• You acknowledge that all messages, usernames, IP addresses, and activity data are collected and stored
• You consent to the use of your data for system analysis and learning purposes (data may be shared in aggregate or anonymized form)
• You understand that data may be retained for the duration of this project
• You have read and agree to our Privacy Policy

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

4. Username Rules

When creating a username, you agree to the following rules:

• Usernames must be 2-20 characters long
• Usernames may only contain letters, numbers, underscores (_), and hyphens (-)
• Usernames must not be offensive, misleading, or impersonate others
• Usernames must not violate any third-party rights
• We reserve the right to reject or remove any username at our discretion

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service responsibly and comply with all applicable laws. You agree NOT to:

• Harassment: Harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse other users
• Hate Speech: Post content that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
• Illegal Content: Post content that is illegal, promotes illegal activities, or violates any laws
• Spam: Send repetitive, unsolicited, or automated messages
• Impersonation: Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Malicious Activity: Attempt to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' accounts, or related systems
• Denial of Service: Engage in activities that overload, flood, or impair the functionality of the Service
• Exploitation: Exploit bugs, vulnerabilities, or unintended features for personal gain or to harm others
• Inappropriate Content: Post sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise inappropriate content (including via live video)
• Privacy Violations: Share personal information of others without consent
• Webcam Abuse: Broadcast illegal, harassing, or non-consensual content; attempt to bypass mute/ban controls via media

6. Live Video

Optional webcam features relay audio and video through the Service (browser ↔ our media servers), not as anonymous peer-to-peer between users. By using live video you agree that:

• Streams may be processed in real time by the Service for delivery and anti-abuse purposes
• Other users may record or re-share what they view; do not broadcast content you are not willing to have captured
• User-to-user IP addresses are not exchanged over the WebRTC media path by design (media is SFU-relayed)
• Administrators may force-stop streams, disable webcams globally, mute, kick, or ban users for abuse
• Report abuse via the contact page

7. Moderation and Enforcement

We have the right, but not the obligation, to monitor, moderate, and manage the Service. Authorized administrators have general moderation powers, including but not limited to:

• Viewing all messages and user activity
• Warning, muting, or kicking users who violate these Terms (kick also stops any live cam)
• Force-stopping a user's webcam without removing them from chat
• Disabling webcam features globally
• Banning users by username or IP address, temporarily or permanently
• Removing messages or content at our discretion
• Taking any other action deemed necessary to maintain service safety and integrity
• Using automated rules and AI-assisted classification to inspect lobby messages, private messages, and user reports

Violations of these Terms may result in immediate removal from the Service without warning.

The public lobby must remain SFW. SFW mode additionally masks configured terms for that viewer and requests enhanced moderation of PMs sent to them.

Moderation decisions are made at the sole discretion of administrators and are final.

8. Message Retention and Privacy

All messages sent through the Service, including private messages, are stored for system analysis and learning purposes. Do not share sensitive, confidential, or personal information through this Service.

While we implement security measures, we cannot guarantee the privacy or security of your communications. Use the Service at your own risk.

9. Service Availability

We provide the Service on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will be:

• Available at all times or without interruption
• Free from errors, bugs, or vulnerabilities
• Compatible with all devices or browsers
• Suitable for any particular purpose

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time without notice.

10. No Warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will meet your requirements or expectations
• The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
• Any information obtained through the Service will be accurate or reliable

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO USE THE SERVICE (WHICH IS ZERO, AS THIS IS A FREE SERVICE).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Service operators, administrators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use or misuse of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another person or entity
• Any content you submit through the Service

13. User Conduct and Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

• All messages and content you send through the Service
• Your interactions with other users
• Maintaining the confidentiality of any authentication credentials
• All activities that occur under your username

You acknowledge that other users' behavior is beyond our control and we are not responsible for their actions or content.

14. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and original content, is owned by the Service operators and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of the messages you send, but you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, store, and analyze your messages for system analysis and learning purposes.

15. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. It is your responsibility to stay informed of any changes.

16. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, without notice or liability. Upon termination, your right to use the Service immediately ceases.

You may stop using the Service at any time. However, message data and activity logs will remain in our systems as described in our Privacy Policy.

17. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in courts of competent jurisdiction, as determined by applicable law.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Service operators regarding your use of the Service.
